Description
Cumin seeds are the dried fruit of a plant in the family Apiaceae and is native to India and southern Europe.
The plant is a member of the parsley family, but it’s not related to parsley at all. Cumin is also called “Indian caraway,” but it’s not related to caraway either. In fact, cumin can be used as a substitute for caraway in recipes like German sauerkraut and Russian bread puddings.
